Özet
Mekân, bellek ve mimarlık arasındaki ilişkinin varlığı üzerine şekillenen ve geliştirilen Tez, deniz ve dağ kalesi olarak tanımlanan Lübnan'ın 1975-1990 iç savaşının tezahürü olan başkent Beyrut'un savaş sonrası döneminde; bellek ve mekân ilişkisinin yitik imgesi üzerine çalışan farklı sanatsal üretimler ve kentsel mekân analizi üzerine kurulmuştur. Tez, Beyrut üzerine hem kentsel tarih, savaş dönemi kent tarihi, savaş sonrası kentsel dönüşüm hem de mekân-bellek-mimarlık çerçevesinde savaş sonrası dönemin sosyal travmasını ele alan çeşitlisanatsal üretimleri içermektedir. Tez gerek Ortadoğu gerekse dünyanın farklı yerlerinde iç savaşlar sonucunda ortaya çıkan "savaşla bölünmüş kent" argümanını, Beyrut kent merkezi bağlamında 'neoliberal güç paylaşımı' ve 'Solidere sermayesi' olarak tanımladığım Downtown Beyrut'un amnezik yeniden yapılanmasının siyasal arka planı olan kentsel dönüşüm projesi Solidere'in çözümlenmesine yoğunlaşmıştır. Bu Tez parçalı, geçirgen, olası temsil ve deneyimlere açık olan mekânı iktidar, ekonomi ve ideolojik paradigmalarla pazarlanarak yeniden icat edilen Beyrut'un, yeni bellek mekânlarını, travmatik mekânlarını, mekân-bellek-travma ilişkisi etrafında düşünürlerce ileri sürülen bir dizi kuram-kavram bağlaşında analiz etmeyi amaçlamaktadır. Beyrut'un deneyimlenmiş savaş tarihini mimari yapılar, anılar, anlatılar ve imgesel temsillerle mekân, bellek, travma, harabe temaları etrafında gerçekçi ve bütüncül bir biçimde ortaya koyan çağdaş sanatçıların edebi-kültürel-sanatsal üretimlerinin analizi ve değerlendirmesi şeklinde özetlenebilir.
The thesis, which was shaped and developed on the existence of the relationship between space, memory and architecture, was defined as the sea and mountain fortress, in the post-war period of the capital Beirut, which was the manifestation of Lebanon's 1975-1990 civil war; It is based on different artistic productions and urban space analysis, working on the lost image of memory and space relationship. The thesis includes various artistic productions on Beirut, which addressed both urban history, urban history during the war period, urban transformation after the war, and social trauma of the postwar period in the context of space-memory-architecture. The thesis focuses on the analysis of the urban transformation project Solidere, which is the political background of the amnesic structuring of Downtown Beirut, which I defined as the "neoliberal power sharing" and "Solidere capital" in the context of Beirut city center, which emerged as a result of civil wars both in the Middle East and in different parts of the world. This thesis aims to analyze Beirut's new memory spaces, traumatic spaces, the space-memory-trauma relationship that is proposed by the thinkers about the space-memory-trauma relationship, which is fragmented, permeable, open to possible representations and experiences, and is marketed with power, economy and ideological paradigms. It can be summarized as the analysis and evaluation of the literary-cultural-artistic productions of contemporary artists who reveal Beirut's experienced war history in a realistic and holistic way around the themes of space, memory, trauma, ruin with architectural structures, memories, narratives and imaginary representations.
