dc.description.abstractKhuzistan Kroniği, Süryani tarih yazıcılığı alanında yazarı kesin olarak bilinmeyen bir metindir. Bu kronik Batı'da bazı araştırmalara konu olmasına ve kimi dillere tercüme edilmesine rağmen Türkiye'de henüz pek çalışılmamıştır. Bu yüksek lisans tezi vesilesiyle söz konusu kroniği ilk kez Türkçeye tercüme ederek, Süryani dili ve kültürü alanına kazandırmaya çalıştık. Kroniğin yazarı, öyküsünü 590 yılında Sasani hükümdarı IV. Hürmüz'ün ölümüyle başlatmakta, 641 yılına, III. Yezdigard dönemine kadar sürdürmektedir. Nitekim o süreçte Müslüman Araplar Sasani varlığını sona erdirmişlerdi. Kronikte Suriye, İran, Anadolu ve Mezopotamya coğrafyalarında yaşanan Sasani-Roma mücadeleleri ve ayrıca Sasanilerin siyasî, sosyal, dinî ve etnik yapısı hakkında da bilgiler bulunmaktadır. Bu tez çalışması "Giriş" kısmında tezin amacını ve önemini, sınırlarını ve kullanılan kaynakları bahis konusu etmektedir. Birinci Bölüm'de, "Metinsel ve Tarihsel Arka Plan" başlığı altında, "Süryani Tarih Yazıcılığı", "Sasani İmparatorluğu" ve "Bizans İmparatorluğu" alt başlıklarda, dinî, siyasî ve sosyal boyutlu bazı bilgiler verilmektedir. Bunlara ilaveten, söz konusu iki büyük imparatorluk arasında VI. ve VII. yüzyıllarda yaşanan siyasi-askeri mücadeleler ayrı bir başlık altında özetlenmektedir. İkinci Bölüm Süryanice metni, Türkçe çeviriyi ve yaptığımız bazı açıklamaları içeren dipnotları ihtiva etmektedir. Son olarak kronikle ilgili kapsamlı bir değerlendirme yapılmış, kaynaklar, ekler ve metnin numunesi kısmı da eklenmiştir.en_US
dc.description.abstract.The Chronicle of Khuzistan is one of the anonymous sources in the Syriac historiography. Although this chronicle has been the subject of some research and has been translated to modern languages in the West, the chronicle has not been studied well in Turkey. We tried to bring this chronicle into the field of Syriac language and culture by translating it into Turkish on the occasion of this master's thesis. The author of this chronicle begins his story with the death of the Sasanid ruler Hormizd IV and it continues until the reign of Yezdigard III in 641. As a matter of fact, Muslim Arabs ended the existence of Sasanid Empire. There is valuable information about the Byzantine-Sasanid struggle in the regions of Syria, Iran, Anatolia and Mesopotamia and also the political, social, religious and ethnic structures of Sasanid Empire in the chronicle. In the "Introduction "section of this thesis, the aim and the sources of the subject will be examined. In the First Chapter named "Textual and Historical Backgrounds", some information about religious, political and social dynamics of the era provided under the subtitles of "the Syriac historiography," "the Sasanid Empire" and "the Byzantine Empire". Additionally, the political and military struggles between two empires in question in the 6th and 7th centuries will be summarized under another title. The Second Chapter contains the original text in Syriac, its Turkish translation and some footnotes with some explanations. Finally, a detailed evaluation of the chronicle, bibliography, appendices and a sample of the text were added to the thesis.en_US
