Özet
Madrasa of Kasımiye which is located near the urban site of Mardin in Turkey's Southeast Anatolia Region was built in the last quarter of the fifteenth century by Sultan Kasım Bey who is Aqquyunlu Uzun Hasan's nephew. Kasımiye Madrasa has similarity with Zinciriye Madrasa was built by the Artuqid Principality in A.D. 1385. However Kasımiye is the only monument with its authenticity that can be reached today in Mardin. Madrasa had been continued its unique function until the start of 1th World War with the Ottoman and Turkey Republican periods maintenance and repairing. The researcher’s comments and local myths show differences in the conducted inadequate study about the Madrasa. In the study, these opinions were compared and the confusions about the madrasa were corrected by monument’s
analytical and archival researches. The study aims to find out how being formed the architectural parts of the Madrasa, and analyse the authentic parts which survived until today with regard to conservation science. The study has derived from the dissertation named "Authenticity and Restitution Conditions of Mardin's Monuments" that has been prepared in Istanbul Technical University Graduate School of
Science Engineering and Technology, Restoration Program of Department of Architecture with thesis advisor PhD. Gülsün Tanyeli. It has been researched the authenticity status and restitutions of Mardin Kasımiye Madrasa which is cultural heritage. In addition, it has achieved to new data.
