INVESTIGATION OF SOCIAL PHYSICAL ANXIETY STATES AND EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE LEVELS OF HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS ACCORDING TO VARIABLE OF DOING SPORTS

Özet
Bu çalışmanın amacı, lise öğrencilerinin, sosyal fizik kaygı durumları ve duygusal zekâ düzeylerinin spor
yapma durumlarına göre incelenmesidir. Araştırmaya İstanbul, Avcılar Firüzköy Çok Programlı Anadolu
Lisesinde öğrenim görmekte olan 277 lise öğrencisi katılmıştır. Araştırma verileri; Kişisel Bilgi Formu, Schutte
Duygusal Zekâ Ölçeği ve Sosyal Fizik Kaygı Envanteri kullanılarak, gönüllü katılım esasına göre toplanmıştır.
Verilerin istatistiksel analizi için SPSS 21 paket programı kullanılmış, elde edilen verilerin çözümlenmesinde
betimsel istatistikler, tek yönlü varyans analizi (ANOVA) ve bağımsız örneklem t-testi teknikleri uygulanmıştır.
Edinilen bulgular incelendiğinde; öğrencilerin yaş değişkenlerine göre, duygusal zekâ alt boyutu, iyimserlik/ruh
halinin düzenlenmesi ve duygusal zekâ toplam puanlarında, anlamlı farklılık tespit edilmiştir (p<0.05). Bu
durum öğrencilerin yaşı ile birlikte, duygusal zekâ puanlarında anlamlı bir artış olduğunu göstermiştir.
Öğrencilerin yaş değişkenlerinin sosyal fizik kaygı düzeylerine göre karşılaştırılmasında, fiziksel görünüm
rahatlığı alt boyutu ve sosyal fizik kaygı toplam puanlarında, istatistiksel olarak anlamlı farklılıklar tespit
edilmiştir (p<0.05). Öğrencilerin yaşları arttıkça, sosyal fiziki kaygı puanlarında anlamlı bir azalmanın olduğu
görülmüştür. Öğrencilerin cinsiyet değişkenine göre duygusal zekâ puanlarının karşılaştırılmasında, duygusal
zekâ toplam puanında, kız öğrenciler lehine; sosyal fizik kaygı puanlarının karşılaştırılmasında, sosyal fizik
kaygı toplam puanlarında, erkek öğrenciler lehine, istatistiksel olarak anlamlı farklılıklar bulunmuştur. (p<0.05).
Sosyal fizik kaygı durumuna göre, öğrencilerin spor yapma durumu değişkeninde, fiziksel görünüm rahatlığı,
olumsuz değerlendirme beklentisi alt boyutları ve sosyal fizik kaygı toplam puanlarında spor yapanlar lehine
istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir farklılık tespit edilmiştir (p<0.05). Öğrencilerin aile gelir durumlarının sosyal fizik
kaygı puanlarına göre karşılaştırılmasında ise, olumsuz değerlendirme beklentisi alt boyutu ve sosyal fizik kaygı
toplam puanlarında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı farklılıklar tespit edilmiş ve bu farklılık yüksek aile geliri olanlar
lehine bulunmuştur (p<0.05). Sonuçlar ilgili literatür ışığında tartışılmış ve yapılacak yeni çalışmalar için
önerilerde bulunulmuştur.
The aim of this study was to investigate the social physical anxiety states and emotional intelligence levels of high school students according to their “doing sports “variable. 277 high school students attending Avcılar Firüzköy Multi-Program Anatolian High School participated in the study. Research data were collected on a voluntary basis using The Personal Information Form, the Schutte Emotional Intelligence Scale and the Social Physical Anxiety Inventory. SPSS 21 package program was used for statistical analysis of the data. Descriptive statistics, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and independent sample t-test techniques were used to analyze the data obtained. When the data obtained are examined; According to the age variables of the students, on an emotional intelligence sub-dimension, optimism/mood regulation, and emotional intelligence total scores, a significant difference was determined (p <0.05). This result showed that there was a significant increase in the emotional intelligence scores of the students with their ages. İn the comparison of the age variables of the students according to their social physics anxiety states, statistically significant differences were found in Physical appearance comfort sub-dimension and social physics anxiety total scores (p<0.05). It's observed that as the students' ages increased, there was a significant decrease in social physical anxiety scores. In the comparison of the emotional intelligence scores of the students according to the gender variable, in the total score of emotional intelligence, in favor of female students; In the comparison of social physics anxiety scores, statistically significant differences were found in social physics anxiety total scores, in favor of male students (p <0.05). According to the state of social physic anxiety, In the sport making state variable, a statisticallysignificant difference was found in favor of those who did sports in the parameters physical appearance comfort, negative evaluation expectation sub-dimension and social physic anxiety total scores (p<0.05). In the comparison of the family income status of the students according to their social physics anxiety scores, statistically significant differences were found in the negative evaluation expectation sub-dimension and social physics anxiety total scores and this difference was found in favor of those with high family income (p <0.05). The results were discussed in the light of the literature and suggestions were made for new studies.
